Flood Resilience Funding: Blending Nature-Based Solutions with Traditional Approaches for All Community Sizes

Davey Resource Group (DRG) and Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI) are hosting a free one-hour webinar on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at 1 p.m. EST focusing on traditional and nature-based engineering approaches to flood mitigation. The webinar is tailored for planners, engineers, urban ecologists, environmentalists, biologists, watershed engineers, and other professionals dedicated to strengthening community resilience through stormwater management.

The session dives into creating successful projects by developing multidisciplinary design teams and pursuing funding opportunities on the federal, state, and regional levels. Our speakers will use real-world examples across community sizes to explore projects that combine traditional flood infrastructure, such as stormwater retrofits and flood gates, with nature-based solutions like floodplain expansions, wetland restoration, and living shorelines, to enhance resilience while meeting regulatory requirements and secure critical funding.
